Real quick before we get into the newsletter...

We’re gathering Impact founders, builders, and operators in Melbourne on Oct 30.

This week, I want to spotlight a few incredible projects proving that business can be a force for good.

It all came together at brandkind's Pro Bono Pitch Night, a “Shark Tank for Good”.

Instead of asking for funding, social enterprises pitched for skills: design, branding, marketing, and storytelling to help grow their impact.

This event was a great reminder what happens when community, creativity, and purpose collide to serve up “talent philanthropy”.

I wanted to share the projects with you in case you have something to contribute, even just spreading the word about the work they do.

The projects

Worthy Cause

Worthy Cause provides a 6-month training and employment program for disadvantaged youth, teaching the skills to building a better life, all while making cookies that help fund the program.

The program has had an impressive 91% success rate in transitioning program members into paid work or continued education, over DOUBLE the success rate of alternative support.

The ask: Worthy Cause is seeking help with content and storytelling to fuel online sales and reach more supporters.

Conscious Combat Club

Conscious Combat Club creates trauma-informed martial arts programs, blending mindfulness, consent-based coaching, and strength training in an inclusive environment.

They’re building a growing network of gyms and instructors dedicated to mental health, empowerment, and connection.

The ask: They’re looking for fundraiser support, from awareness to content creation.

CORENA

CORENA runs a revolving community energy fund, offering zero-interest loans to help nonprofits install renewable energy systems.

Over $1.8 million has already been invested in community solar, EVs, and energy efficient projects, reducing thousands of tons of CO2 while saving nonprofit resources.

The ask: CORENA is looking for a new visual identity that reflects their hopeful, collective, and action-oriented values.

Little Dreamers

There are 390,000 young Australians caring for a family member with a disability, illness, or addiction. Little Dreamers is helping them get the support they need through education programs and mentoring.

They’ve supported 6,500 young carers across Australia and are helping shape national policy change for carer support.

The ask: Little Dreamers is looking for brand positioning support to amplify Young Carer voices and make Little Dreamers a household name.

Future Minds Network

Future Minds Network runs entrepreneurship programs that teach enterprise skills and mindsets to high school students across Australia.

Over 13,000 students have already participated in their programs, with 75% of teachers reporting they’re now more confident teaching careers in tech and social enterprise.

The ask: FMN is seeking design strategy support and a brand refresh, bringing a new visual identity to market that reflects their values.

Listening to these pitches, I was struck by the creativity and heart behind every business.

Coming from a tech background and mostly working with digital and emerging tech projects, honestly, social enterprises are a bit out of my wheelhouse.

I was so inspired by the ingenuity these founders have in designing business models around creative programs.

There’s a lot I can learn from this space in applying social enterprise patterns across the impact world.

If you have the means (and skills) to support any of these projects you can connect with them through brandkind.

Here's a quick intro from co-founder (and dear friend) Jem.

At brandkind, we believe good brands deserve to succeed.

Our mission is simple: to help social enterprises tell their stories in a way that inspires action. We’re here to build brands that not only resonate but also help create a world where choosing socially-conscious businesses is just part of everyday life.

We’re a growing community of over 90 professionals, from marketers and creatives to web developers and business experts. We're looking for professionals and creatives looking to use their skills for good.

Share your interest here and we can set up some time to share more about the community.

That wraps up this week's newsletter!

If you know someone who would like this newsletter, please share it with them. It's the #1 BEST way you can support the work that I do.

And if you have any feedback, content suggestions, or requests, please respond back to this email, I check every one.
